South Jackson Street Band
South Jackson Street Band is Middle Tennessee's premier big band playing jazz, swing, Latin, waltz, and dance music from the 1930's through today. Like other big bands from the golden era of swing, our band has 5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, and a rhythm section composed of drums, bass, piano, and guitar. The band is rounded out with a Male and Female vocalist that front the band. Add in our sound technician, and the band is 20 members strong. Our repertoire of over 400 songs ranges from the sounds of the Glen Miller and Artie Shaw orchestras to the contemporary artistry of Gillespie, Elton John, the Beatles, and Billy Joel.We perform for wedding receptions, company events, fund raisers, civic events, birthdays, reunions, patriotic events, dinner dances, dance classes, and any public or private event where the class and style of a big band is desired. We travel and perform throughout Middle Tennessee, Northern Alabama, northwestern Georgia, and southern Kentucky. Big bands are more affordable than you might think. Whether you like to dance, or just sit back and listen, we're always happy to entertain you.
