Ron Hackett plays an eclectic mix of jazz, classical, Spanish, show tunes, country, and pop instrumentals on guitar using a hybrid finger-style and flat picking style. Ron play's chord melody solos that are reminiscent of the late Chet Atkins and Joe Pass. Other influences include Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt, Johnny Smith, Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd, and Bucky Pizzarelli. Ron received his first guitar for his eleventh birthday and has been playing ever since. He studied with a private teacher for about six years. He has studied music in at the University of Central Florida (UCF), the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH), and the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Furthermore, he has played with the church praise band, the Swing Shift jazz ensemble, the South Jackson Goes Country band in 2018, several guitar ensembles at the Jazz Workshop, and more. Ron joined the South Jackson Street Band in 2017.
